You’re Never Too Old for an Adventure with God

Admiral Albert Kelln is a decorated war hero. Though his military life has been full of accomplishments, Al’s greatest adventures in life didn’t happen until decades later when he first heard Andrew Wommack’s teaching. Al served in the U.S. Navy for twenty-eight years and was awarded the Legion of Merit for his many accomplishments. After receiving a master’s degree in nuclear physics, he served on the Navy’s first nuclear attack submarine.

Through his missions to the Arctic Ocean, he became the first man to fly over, stand on, and pass under the North Pole. He also survived deadly missions in the Korean War. His hard work, determination, and bravery in the line of duty earned him the rank of admiral. By the time he was in his seventies, it seemed like his best days were over. That was when his wife, Cecily, came across a cassette tape that would change their lives forever. Cecily says, “We were going to a church that did not share the teaching of receiving the Holy Spirit. We went to a friend’s home, and when we were leaving, she handed me this cassette tape. . . . We put it in, and this man [Andrew] was saying if you don’t have the baptism in the Holy Spirit, you’re not really empowered to do the ministry that you should be doing.” After receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Al and Cecily were eager to learn more about their new identity and started watching Andrew’s Gospel Truth program on a regular basis.

Little did they know that this foundation on their authority in Christ would be put to the ultimate test. At the age of seventy-six, Al was rushed to the hospital because of a gastrointestinal rupture. He flatlined, yet Cecily had faith for Al’s healing. She felt the Holy Spirit’s assurance that they had more ministry ahead of them. Suddenly, Al’s heart started beating again. Despite having flatlined for almost half an hour, Al came back to life. The Holy Spirit didn’t just raise Al from the dead; He energized the Kellns to spread the Gospel with others. Excited to share God’s kingdom, they started food banks, nursing home ministries, and a thriving pregnancy center. Now, at the age of ninety-one, Al’s next mission is to reach military families and disciple them under the same teachings that have forever changed his life. “You’re never too old, because once you give the Holy Spirit permission to use you and to instruct you, things just fall into place. . . . He’s got a lot for me to do, and it’s a pleasure to be alive and to serve God,” Al says. Thank you, friends and partners.
