Today the world’s circumstances look grim. We’re tempted to get depressed or give up.
Wait!.. don’t become blinded to the miraculous!
Looking at Jesus’ birth we also see grim circumstances yet it was full of miracles.
Grim Circumstances: Mary, gone for 3 months, comes home pregnant at age 14…not married!
Questions lurked in people’s minds. “This is a public disgrace… she should be stoned to death”. Whispering and gossip. People were angry.. turning their backs on her in the marketplace… shunning her family.
Do you know every young Jewish girl dreamed and hoped to be the Messiah’s mother? Probably not expecting it to happen this way?
Miraculous: An angel appears to Mary, “You are highly favored. You shall have a son – He will be the Messiah.”
Wow! A Miracle Happened … The Power of the Holy Spirit overshadowed her. Mary became the mother of the Savior of the World!
Yet how many of her friends, neighbors, church were blinded by the circumstances?
However, not just one miracle happened!
Elizabeth, her cousin was pregnant in her old age! Joseph, instead of having her publicly ridiculed or stoning her to death, was an upright man and took Mary as his wife! Jesus was born in a stable surrounded by barn animals- in a lowly manger. Yet the Magi brought riches to celebrate His birth.
You may be looking at grim circumstances — limited in what you can do, lost jobs, sick family.
Don’t let those circumstances blind you to the Miraculous – The Loving God, our Father, loving us because he chooses to!
The Holy Spirit living inside of us and working through us. Jesus, the Savior of the World – because of him, we can live fruitful, peaceful, prosperous lives on this earth. WOW!
For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37
What miracle are you looking for today?
Miracle of Healing? Miracle in a relationship? Miracle of a promise fulfilled?
2000 years ago the miracle happened and His name is Jesus! And He is still invading the impossible today! Grab ahold of it, Believe it, and watch it happen in your life!
The angel said to Mary – Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord said to her will be accomplished.
Blessed are you who believe that what the Lord said to you will be accomplished!
She simply believed – will you?
